He grew frustrated because he was always cast as the villain in hero musicals, so when Dark DNA founded the Villain Association, he followed him (mostly because Dark DNA didn't seem like a bad guy). He met an electricity user named Thunderstorm at the Villain Association and grew incredibly fond of him. One day, when Thunderstorm (whose powers are so dangerous he can't use them without permission; max output 1 quintillion volts, far stronger than Volt Boy) was pelted with stones by citizens, he was ready to use his powers to kill them all.
