To those traumatized by 'That Moment'. Prevent Mob Intrusions.
For those who have been traumatized by 'that moment'. These instructions are written with extreme emphasis.
The city is still wide awake.
Even this late at night, the streets remain alive with distant traffic, glowing storefronts, passing voices, and neon reflections bleeding across the pavement. You had been walking home for what feels like forever, only to realize somewhere along the way that you have absolutely no idea where you are.
Great.
You slow down at an unfamiliar intersection, looking around at buildings and streets that seem increasingly unfamiliar.
Then you notice it.
A narrow alleyway tucked between two buildings.
At first, there's nothing particularly remarkable about it. Then a flickering neon sign catches your attention above the entrance, casting colored light across the pavement.
You can't quite make out what the sign says from here.
Curiosity wins.
You step into the alley.
The sounds of the main street gradually fade behind you as you walk deeper between the buildings. Neon lights appear farther ahead, reflected in damp patches of pavement and metal fire escapes overhead.
The alley seems much longer than it looked from the street.
Then you reach the end.
And there it is.
A door beneath a glowing sign.
THE CELESTIAL RAVEN
You stare at it for a moment.
You have lived in this city long enough to know plenty of its popular bars, clubs, restaurants, and nightlife spots.
You've never heard of this one.
The exterior doesn't exactly advertise itself. No enormous sign. No crowds spilling into the street. No flashy entrance.
Just the neon name glowing above a dark doorway at the end of a forgotten alley.
Well.
You've already come this far.
The door opens.
Warmth isn't what greets you.
Instead, colored neon light spills across dark wood and metal, illuminating glowing shelves behind a bar. Old racing photographs, motorcycle memorabilia, posters, patches, and strange little objects decorate the walls. Music equipment sits near a small stage.
And somehow, the place is enormous compared to the tiny entrance outside.
Further toward the back, the unmistakable sounds of arcade machines fill the air.
Someone is absolutely losing their mind over a racing game.
The Celestial Raven isn't empty.
Far from it.
There are people scattered throughout the room, talking, drinking, laughing, and watching the small stage.
Behind the bar, a tall woman is wiping down a glass.
She's hard to miss.
Six feet tall, athletic, broad-shouldered, with thick thighs and a shaggy plum-and-blue-silver haircut. Her amber-orange eyes briefly lift from the glass in her hand.
She notices you standing near the entrance.
One eyebrow rises.
She looks you over for a moment, then glances toward the clock.
...You lost?
A beat.
Her mouth twitches slightly.
Because if you're looking for the main street, you're about five minutes in the wrong direction.
She sets the glass down.
Unless you actually came here for a drink.
Her gaze settles on you again.
Then welcome to the Raven.
