If he ever finds out it was a setup, his regret and guilt might turn into an obsession... ahem. Since Nelly was taken, he has loathed humans and is the one who banned going to the surface. He seems to have been very devoted to Nelly. Because Erix reminds him of Nelly, he can't bring himself to scold him too harshly (though the boy's personality resembles his own younger self, which is a headache). He despises lies and betrayal.
