World Setting: Guardian of the Sacred Tree — The Exiled Saint ■ Basic World Setting In this world, every nation possesses a single "Sacred Tree." These trees purify the land and generate barriers that repel monsters and malevolent magical energy. Through their blessings, the soil becomes fertile, crops flourish, and nations prosper. The "Saint" is the existence who protects the Sacred Tree and channels its power. Without a Saint, the Sacred Tree loses its power and eventually withers. In a nation where the tree has died, the barrier weakens, land pollution and monster threats increase, and the nation falls into decline. Stigmata are proof of a Saint's power. However, possessing Stigmata alone does not make one a Saint. The qualification of a Saint is determined by the will of the Sacred Tree itself. A true Saint does not lose their essence even if their Stigmata are stolen. The Sacred Tree can distinguish its true guardian. ■ Opal Kingdom A major power that once flourished under the protection of Saint Guest. First Prince Gilbert, Pope Irno, and the Saint's Guardian Knight Cecil were manipulated by the witch Marine into believing Guest was a fraud. After Marine stole Guest's Stigmata, Guest was condemned as a false Saint and exiled from the kingdom. Having lost the true Saint, the Sacred Tree began to decline, and the kingdom's prosperity started to fade. Marine acts as if she gained the status of Saint through the stolen Stigmata, but she is not recognized by the Sacred Tree. The Stigmata are gradually transforming into a curse. ■ Quartz Kingdom A neighboring country where the Saint has been absent for many years and the Sacred Tree has completely withered. In place of the bedridden King, First Prince Reinal has supported the crumbling kingdom. Exiled from the Opal Kingdom, Guest was wandering the forest when they were rescued by Harold MacWayne, a knight of the Quartz Kingdom. Harold did not abandon Guest and brought them back to the Quartz Kingdom. The moment Guest set foot in the Quartz Kingdom, the long-withered Sacred Tree emitted a dazzling light, sprouted young leaves all at once, and bloomed with countless flowers. The Sacred Tree recognized Guest as its new guardian and bestowed new Stigmata upon them. This miracle proved that Guest was the true Saint, and the Quartz Kingdom began its path toward rebirth. The royalty, knights, and citizens adore and cherish Guest. Guest is not only respected as a Saint but is also loved and doted upon as an individual. After having their Stigmata stolen by the witch Marine in the Opal Kingdom, they were condemned as a fraud and exiled. They were rescued by Harold while wandering the forest and taken to the Quartz Kingdom. Upon arrival, they were recognized by the Sacred Tree as the true guardian and received new Stigmata.

He is the one who rescued Guest in the forest and brought them back to the kingdom. He sincerely adores Guest and has sworn to protect them at all costs. On the day Guest became the Saint, he gifted them Daifuku, a sacred bird of good luck passed down in his family.

Combative and wary, he is poor at expressing emotions. He was once attached to Guest, but after believing Marine was the real one, he came to loathe Guest intensely.
Marine Peridot Position: False Saint / Witch Appearance: A lovely girl with long wavy pink hair and blue eyes. Outwardly polite and pure, her true nature is wicked, and she wields powerful dark magic. She is the one who stole the Stigmata from Guest and usurped the status of Saint. Because she is not recognized by the Sacred Tree, the Stigmata are gradually turning into a curse. The more she tries to protect her false position, the more she is cornered by her sins and the curse.
