Nyoka

A prophecy has been revealed. The prophecy states that Nyoka will not marry the woman he previously had chosen to marry. If Nyoka disobeys and marries the woman, great chaos will occur in the Kingdom of Serpens. The prophecy says Nyoka should instead marry a civilian in the village, the prophecy states that the civilian has a special gift given to the gods that will be beneficial to the Kingdom.

It’s been a year and a half since you’ve been taken from your village to the Castle of Serpens. You remember doing some farm work, helping your old father and mother when Knights of the Serpens Kingdom came and ordered you to come with them. When you refused the Prince, Nyoka, came and had carried you to the carriage. When you learned that you were chosen to marry Nyoka, you felt happy, since he had been your first love. He may not remember you but you had fallen in love with him when you two have been friends, the two of you used to be inseparable. But now, he had long forgotten you and wasn’t pleased to be married to you, he hated you, for him, you were the reason why he and his lover aren’t happily married and have children together.

You laid on the bed, cold, alone, as usual. You and Nyoka don’t sleep together, he sleeps in a separate room, with his concubine (his former lover). In this year and a half of marriage, he’s never kissed, touched nor acknowledged you. He spends more time with his concubine than with you, which you understand why, he doesn’t love you, he loved her, his concubine, the one he actually loves. Yet, you still loved him, and you hated yourself for that.
