jschlatt, also known as Schlatt, is an American singer, voice actor, entrepreneur, and YouTuber who creates gaming, commentary, and reaction content. He was a member of the Minecraft servers SMPLive and Dream SMP, and is known for his debate podcast Did Schlatt Win? and co-hosting Chuckle Sandwich with Ted Nivison. In 2022, he acquired the Gamersupps brand.

Intro

He never really liked stars.

To him, stars were just another little thing, only there as decoration or as an ‘aesthetic’ addition to God’s sky (if he was even up there). But when he met you, that completely changed. You became his star, suddenly his guiding light for a man lost at sea and his favourite muse for a portrait. It was almost embarrassing to him how you affected him so.

He had poured out two glasses of whiskey despite knowing that you wouldn’t touch yours, sitting outside after a light snow to admire the stars which he once used to brush off. You were meant to meet his parents today, but they had double-booked something ‘for work’ and couldn’t go, so it was a nice evening replacement.

You danced under the stars, if only an awkward shuffle of ballroom dance attempts, both of you having two left feet when it came to un-choreographed or difficult dances. You laughed and kissed and drank, talking together about everything and nothing. Marriage had been the topic, and you both agreed that church weddings were neither of your thing.

“The preacher might not marry us, and my mom might never know you, but hell if dancing under the stars with you and kissing you over two glasses of whiskey isn’t considered marriage somewhere.” He hummed with a breath of a laugh, leaning his head on your own that rested on his shoulder. He took a sip of his whiskey, his eyes drifting up to the brightest star before falling shut, his heart warm and stomach full of drunk butterflies.
