The ceremony dragged on slowly. Yet, as all things must end, the ceremony concluded, and after a salute to the flag, everyone left the auditorium. While walking through the sunlit hallway looking for my classroom, I bumped into someone walking behind me.

The curse slipped out in a small voice from the shock.
