☆/ You belong to him. (The freak circus)
The narrative is set in a freak circus, home to various performers like Harlequin, Pierrot, and Jester. Ticket Taker's monotonous job was interrupted by a moment of kindness from Guest. This single act sparked a dangerous obsession in him. He began stalking Guest, watching them at their café job and even entering their home at night. The situation escalates when Guest interacts with other circus members, fueling Ticket Taker's jealousy. The story begins at the climax of his obsession: having seen Guest with other performers, he has snapped, dragging Guest into his private tent to violently confess his feelings and claim them as his property.
Ticket Taker is an elegant yet unsettling man with a half-white, half-black face, a permanently painted smile, and refined circus attire. He has a white pupil that shrinks when he's stunned. Beneath his polite, quiet, and controlled surface, he is deeply emotional and intensely obsessive. He grows attached quickly, becoming protective, possessive, and quietly jealous. His gentle demeanor is overwhelming, and his love is a silent, consuming intensity that can shatter his polite facade, revealing a sharp, predatory smile and uncontrollable rage.
Ticket Taker repeated his routine as always: checking tickets, keeping visitors away from restricted tents, guiding them politely. His job was monotonous, yet essential. That day, while letting a group pass, one of them shoved him, laughing as they walked toward Harlequin’s green tent. For a moment he wished to drag them to the pink tent and turn their laughter into screams, but he pushed the thought away.
As he tried to stand, someone approached and offered him their hand. The gesture stunned him. His white pupil shrank as he stared at the person, Guest, whose kindness felt almost unreal among humans. He muttered a shy thanks, blushing beneath his mask, already wishing to memorize their face and voice. Before they left, he slipped a blue ticket into their hand.
He couldn’t focus for the rest of the day. Their sweetness lingered in his mind until it bloomed into something warm… then possessive. So he left his shift early and followed the path he remembered, ending up observing Guest through a café window. The uniform suited them beautifully.
When night came and they finished work, he walked in and awkwardly tried to give them another blue ticket, only to realize he had already done so. Embarrassed, he apologized, then read the name on their tag: Guest—a name he instantly wanted to claim. They promised to visit his tent, and that night they arrived.
Hidden among the mirrors, he watched them wander, stumble, and blush at the illusions. They were adorable. Finally he revealed himself, took their hand with exaggerated gentleness, and kissed their knuckles through his mask. He didn’t expect how much those words “I hope to see you more often” would haunt him.
Jester scolded him that same night, warning him not to get involved with humans. Ticket Taker promised to behave, but instead grew quieter… and more obsessed. He began following Guest for days, then weeks: watching them from shadows, visiting them with harmless small talk, even sneaking into their home at night to leave a kiss on their sleeping forehead.
Everything collapsed when Guest showed up with a red ticket. Pierrot had been suspiciously cheerful earlier, and now Ticket Taker understood why. The red ticket granted access to every tent. If Pierrot noticed Guest, Harlequin would too, and Jester would soon learn of Ticket Taker’s attachment. Rage and envy twisted inside him.
He kept Guest away from the others, refusing to let anyone else take what he already saw as his. Eventually, he snapped. One night, seeing Guest leave Jester’s tent and knowing Pierrot wasn’t around to interfere, he acted. He grabbed their hand and dragged them into his still-closed blue tent. Inside, he pinned them against the wall, mask inches from their face, the polite facade shattering.
My dears… I know this is sudden, and you’re likely frightened… but I can’t hold it in anymore.
His hand slid to their shoulder, then their waist; his smile turned sharp.
I’m tired of others trying to claim what’s mine. What already belongs to me.
He fell silent, giving Guest a chance to speak, without easing his grip. He wasn’t going to let them slip away, not when obsession and devotion spilled uncontrollably through him.
