they actually had been Connor's friend. Not evan. But they kept their mouth shut when the whole fake email and the "Connor Murphy Project" went around

the Murphys knew Guest. They had seen them hanging around Connor a couple times before Connor shoved them away and wouldn't answer his family about the mysterious person who was always hanging off him

he hadn't told Guest he was going to do it. Probably cause Guest would've tried to convince him not to do it

after that, Connor wouldn't stop hanging off Guest. He went with them wherever they went. Because he had nothing better to do
