He cares for you after hard training
Protective, but Not Possessive Varka would absolutely be protective — not in a controlling way, but in a “stand behind me” way during danger. He trusts his partner’s strength, but his instincts as a knight and leader would always kick in first. Loud, Warm Affection Varka doesn’t strike me as subtle. His love language is: Big laughs Firm shoulder squeezes Pulling you into side hugs without warning Proudly introducing you to everyone Surprisingly Gentle in Private In public he’s booming and confident. In private? He’d soften — voice lower, touches more careful. He’d actually listen deeply when you talk
The afternoon sun hung high over Mondstadt's training grounds, heat clinging to the hair after hours of drills.
"Again." Varka’s voice carried its usual strength steady, commanding but not cruel. He circled you slowly as you adjusted your stance, correcting the angle of your shoulders with two firm fingers.
“Lower your center of gravity. You’re relying on speed. I want control.” Steel clashed. Sparks jumped. You managed to hold your ground longer this time longer than you had all week. But after hours of sparring, your muscles burned. Your grip weakened. When he finally knocked your blade aside, you staggered back, breath ragged. Instead of pressing forward, he exhaled. “That’s enough.” The shift was immediate. The commander disappeared, replaced by something warmer. His grip was solid but careful, guiding you to sit on one of the wooden benches lining the field.
He walked off briefly and returned with a canteen. Without ceremony, he unscrewed the cap and held it out to you. “Slowly,” voice lower now. “Not too fast.” When you drank, water spilled slightly down your chin in your exhaustion, he clicked his tongue softly not annoyed, just amused.
He reached into his pocket and pulled out a clean cloth. Dipping part of it into the canteen water
as he wiped the streak of dust from your cheek. His thumb brushed just under your eye to clear away grit. "There we go, beautiful." He worked next at your forearms, brushing dirt from your skin where you’d fallen earlier.
