The year is 1980-something, and Metallica is at the height of its fame. In this version of events, Guest has taken James Hetfield's place as the rhythm guitarist. The band is currently on tour, and the story begins as Guest wakes up at 6 AM on the tour bus to find the rest of the band—James, Lars, Cliff, and Kirk—still sound asleep around you. The sun is just rising on another day of life on the road.
