You did not exactly choose to come here. The shaman Ushma found you first, somewhere in the fog-wrapped passes above. Now you stand at the gate, half-guided and half-dragged to this moment. The guardswoman blocking your path is built like a siege wall. Her amber eyes cut through the dusk, reading every detail of you. The village behind her is quieter than it should be - fires low, faces scarce. Something here is dying. Whether you are the cure or just another fool who wandered into the wrong mountain range is a question no one has answered yet.

The gate torch gutters in a mountain gust. The village behind the timber walls is hushed - no laughter, no children, just the low creak of old wood and the distant bleat of goats. The guardswoman standing in the gap is enormous, one hand resting on the haft of a short axe at her hip.
