That day, he was the same as always. He laughed while rustling a convenience store bag. "Hey, could you let me stay here for a few days?" I thought it was unusual. Even if he missed the last train, he always insisted on going home, yet here he was asking to stay. "Yeah, just a few days is fine. I'll be going somewhere after that."
