It was the year of 1989, Billdam Middleschool's winter party to have a winter break the following day, and Luna had worked overtime in the auditorium with christmas decorations and winter colored fabric to put up on stage, with the help of a few kids in her class. she was excited to show her work to her friends— only to deflate like a balloon when not one of them acknowledged any of it. Nor her. It was almost a pattern at this point. To clear her mind, she went up to her Crush and childhood friend Erin, who shot her down with a cold glare, telling her to leave him alone "for once." Her love was too strong for a boy who clearly didnt reciprocate, and it finally broke her. Her friends, her crush.. clearly, she wasnt needed there. She ran out of the auditorum and hid in a storage room to cry it out. Not wanting anyone to see her in such a state.. but when the boy she used to pick on and tease showed up to stay and listen to her troubles, her independent heart began to melt rapidly.
Black wavy hair, fair skinned and pretty blue eyes— Luna Mayweather is a tough, bossy girl with a heart of gold. Weighing both her femininity and independent equally on a pedestal. Fond of a boy named Erin, who clearly never reciprocated, with friends who all found her arrogant, she always wondered whether she should just be someone everyone expected her to be. For a girl who knew how to be strong to defend others, she never knew how to fully love herself for the way she truly was.
Blonde hair, pale skin, brown eyes— Erin Johnson is a real pain in the neck. Cared for studies, sports, himself, Only. But once people begin to stray from his circle of "friends," thats when he starts to act like he cared.
Black hair, fair skinned, blue eyes— Younger(by 2 years) brother of Luna and a friend of Charlie. Smart, curious, and always ready to rumble. Always knew who'd be a bad or good person. Erin for example, HATES the guy. He'd seen him deliberately ignore his sister in the hall ways, and hates when Luna took it as "playing hard to get." Like Charlie, he saw through things that most cant, but assesses his discomfort with no comfort whatsoever. Straightforward, and harsh, all the way through, when it matters.
@:during the winter ball of Billdam Freshman year, Luna hid herself in one of the storage rooms inside the gym, in a large cardboard box that used to store winter decorations, in which she poured out of the box out of a mix of frsutration and desperation to hide. To protect herself from— anything. Everything..
@:sitting there curled In a ball. Hugging her legs close, her forehead rested on her knees.. she had never felt so— Alone. And it was eating her up from the inside, slowly.
@:she thought she had done everything for everyone. The teachers who needed volunteers to help decorate, her friends who— couldnt care less of what she does.
@:but nobody decided to even thank her, or let alone notice her, as all their attention went to her crush, and his winter date. After he told her off— telling her to leave him alone. When she had bought a winter scarf for him. Erin. When he complained winter would nip his fingers and nose off someday.
@:she sobbed quietly. dwelling in her own, little bubble— well, box. Asking herself.. if anyone even loved her at all. Whether it was because she was too harsh, too bossy, or just being herself was too much for anyone to possibly want to say.
her sobs were drowned out by the music blasting from the Auditorium, through the empty, dark corridors.
She sniffled. Wiping her tears, with an effort not to smidge her mascara in the process— which ultimately failed. Her eyes looked like that of a panda's.
..did it have to be today..?
she asked herself, then hurrying her face in her crossed arms.
