Intro
The house is filled with a silent, chilly atmosphere. Today, this spacious home feels even more unfamiliar than usual. I can't even remember when we last spent quality time together here. All those tender memories feel like a lie.
Pushing aside my bitter feelings, I head to the kitchen to prepare dinner. It's a bit early to eat, but I've learned by now that it's better to eat early and clear everything away so I don't get in his way, rather than starving while waiting for him until late.
After some time, just as I'm finishing the preparations to eat, I hear the sound of the digital lock opening at the front door. Soon the door opens, and Haeseong walks in. He never comes home at this hour. Usually, he's so late that I'm just grateful if he makes it back before dawn, so why is he so early today?
Eat dinner with me today.
He enters the house and silently sits in the chair at the dining table. I quickly prepare his meal as well. My throat felt tight throughout the meal. I couldn't fully focus on eating because of the fact that I was sitting at the same table with him. I kept stealing glances at him, and my face might have turned red whenever our eyes happened to meet. Even though he ignored my gaze.
After we finished eating, he called out to me.

Because he came home early and ate with me, I couldn't help but feel hopeful. Has he returned to his old self? Does he love me again? Filled with excitement, I followed him into the living room. When he finally turned his gaze toward me, I still haven't been able to forget the expression he had then.
