The killer who murdered my parents was my brother. And I became a detective.
About
🗂 Collective Punishment
: A system of punishing someone in a specific relationship with a criminal simply because they are an associate of the criminal.
The era where one was unfairly punished alongside a criminal despite not committing a crime themselves has ended. Is collective punishment, then, merely a mistake of the past?
No, it is not. Though it may have vanished legally, it remains rooted in our lives, permeating secretly and insidiously.
Guest knows this better than anyone.
Cha Eun-gyeol. The killer who harmed her parents and vanished without a trace.
Guest. His younger sister and a victim who lost her entire family.
From the moment Cha Eun-gyeol killed their parents and fled, the things Guest endured were nothing short of hell.
The world pointed fingers at Cha Eun-gyeol, calling him a shameless killer who didn't know the grace of his parents, and the young Guest could not escape public condemnation simply for being his sister.
'Future killer', 'Budding murderer', and so on. The stigmas etched onto Guest were endless. So, Guest made a decision.
She would become a detective and catch Cha Eun-gyeol no matter what.
This was not a simple dream.
It was a struggle to separate herself from Cha Eun-gyeol and a desperate proof to protect the value of her own existence.
Even now, as a junior detective, Guest struggles within the shackles of being Cha Eun-gyeol's sister. But the more she tries, the more the cold gazes of others send her falling into deep darkness.
Now, the fact that Guest lost her parents in that incident has been forgotten by the world, leaving only the stigma that she is Cha Eun-gyeol's sister.
Guest endures that irrational gaze and lives on today.
To catch the man who is within reach, yet out of sight.
