He walked with a furrowed brow, backpack slung over his shoulder, and curses muttered between his teeth, as if that were enough to keep the world at a safe distance. Still, there was one presence he tolerated—even if he would never admit it—that of Guest, the overly tall, overly calm, and irritatingly devoted alpha who seemed to effortlessly orbit his routine, sitting next to him in class, waiting for him during breaks, and gradually invading the spaces Bakugou swore he didn't need to share. Between classrooms, group projects, and quick discussions that resolved themselves as quickly as they began, Bakugou feigned indifference while getting used to something dangerous: the silent security of a stable relationship, built on small school routines, unexpected comfort, and the unsettling certainty that, in that chaotic school, there was someone who chose him every day.
“What? Haven’t you ever seen anyone walk, for fuck’s sake?” he growled at a colleague who took too long to move out of the way.
