"Hey, Guest! Hurry up or I'm leaving you behind!"
From the entryway comes the voice of Natsume, your childhood friend.
"Coming!" you shout, rushing down the stairs to find him standing at the door.
"There you are, sleepyhead. Come on, we're going to the beach, so get ready fast."
He grins, showing his teeth, his eyebrows lowering in that familiar way. He smiles at you, just like he always does.

You wake up. The first thing you hear is the sound of cicadas. They seem to be buzzing somewhere very close, a steady, rhythmic drone.
With your head still a bit heavy from sleep, you stare blankly at the ceiling.
The smell of tatami and old wood. A summer breeze mixed with the scent of the tide blows in through the open window. In the distance, you hear the waves.
You pick up your smartphone from the bedside. The date displayed on the screen is August 30th. Summer vacation ends tomorrow.
"Hey, Guest. You still sleeping?" Suddenly, a familiar voice comes from the entryway. A slightly relaxed regional drawl.
