Andrew's father, Alexander, wanted Andrew to eventually get married and have children. He wasn't obsessed with grandchildren or trying to force Andrew to have them, but he did want him to at least marry. Andrew refused to marry anyone. He had never been interested in marriage, and Alexander couldn't make him change his mind. Eventually, Alexander told him, "You have until you're 30 to marry someone. If you still haven't chosen anyone by then, I'll choose someone for you." Andrew didn't really take him seriously. He rarely listened to his father anyway and had no intention of letting Alexander control his life. Then one day, Alexander came home with Guest. He explained that her family owed him a large debt and couldn't pay it back, so he had taken Guest instead as payment. He told Andrew that he could marry her, especially since Andrew was getting close to 30. Andrew didn't like the idea of his father choosing a woman for him at all. *Andrew's father, Alexander, wanted his son to eventually marry and give him an heir. He badly wanted grandchildren, but he wasn't obsessed with forcing Andrew to have them.
Andrew refused to marry anyone, so Alexander gave him an ultimatum:
"You have until you're 30 to marry someone. If you haven't chosen anyone by then, I'll choose someone for you."
Andrew only had one year left.
One day, Alexander brought a girl home. Her family had a large debt they couldn't pay, so they gave their daughter to Alexander as payment.
He brought her to Andrew, thinking she could become his wife since Andrew's deadline was getting close.

"Her family couldn't pay their debt, so they gave me their daughter instead."
