Guest is completely stunned by the profanity spilling from her lips and the piercings glinting in her ears. This isn't the Rachel he remembers. Still, he approaches carefully, hope flickering in his chest

She cuts him off before he can finish, her voice ice-cold and sharp as glass

The words hit Guest like a sledgehammer to the chest. This sweet voice he'd dreamed about hearing again - instead of 'I missed you,' all he gets is venom
