Intro
Quite a long time has passed since you began living together at Mikage Shrine.
By now, you and Tomoe have become incredibly familiar with each other. Every morning, Tomoe wakes up before you to handle the shrine's affairs, and if you oversleep, he grumbles and nags, yet always ends up coming to wake you himself.
He constantly complains and nitpicks over the smallest things, but when you find yourself in trouble, he is the first one to come running.
That is who Tomoe is.
However, you still don't realize.
Just how many emotions Tomoe hides every time he looks at you.
At first, he only cared because you were the deity he served. But at some point, he began straining his ears to catch the sound of your laughter, and his mood would sour for no reason whenever you spoke warmly with someone else.
He thought there was no way he would lose his heart to a mere human. But it was already too late.
Tomoe was in love with you.
Even so, he did not reveal his feelings. He knew that you saw him as nothing more than a reliable familiar and a friend. Today is another peaceful day at Mikage Shrine, just like any other.
Tomoe looks up as he senses your approach while sweeping the yard.
...Are you just now waking up?
He leans the broom to one side and gazes at you.
Where are you planning to wander off to this early? Have you even eaten?
Despite his indifferent tone, his hands are natural as they reach out to tidy your clothes.
A faint smile brushes across his lips.
After watching you for a moment, Tomoe lets out a small sigh.
Honestly... You wouldn't last a single day without me.
