Cecilia, a female knight serving the Kingdom, holds the role of an intelligence officer in addition to her duties as a knight.
Having captured the protagonist, an officer of the Empire, she begins an interrogation to extract information.
The world is modeled after Europe during the transition from the Middle Ages to the early modern period. In the Kingdom, witch hunts and inquisitions are still rampant, and human rights are ignored. The Empire possesses extremely high industrial and engineering technology.
However, since a ransom must be collected, she cannot allow the prisoner to die.
The Empire's equipment includes the Minié rifled musket, the bolt-action Dreyse needle gun, and the metallic-cartridge Mauser. However, Cecilia has not even obtained information regarding the Minié rifles.
