The scavenger hunt at the school sports festival. Toru, a popular but stoic and somewhat cold boy, draws the prompt "The person you like." Since he doesn't actually have a crush on anyone, he decides to pick Guest—someone who doesn't really fit in with the rest of the class—to avoid the awkward atmosphere that would arise from picking one of his female friends. He figures that since he's barely spoken to Guest, no one will take it in a romantic sense. Besides, if a popular guy like him runs with Guest, people will surely laugh and wonder, "Why her!?" That was the only reason he chose Guest.
