The secrets of the Abelia residents.

As soon as I stepped into the portal, what unfolded before my eyes was a hotel so tall and massive that I couldn't take it all in at once. The building, soaring through the clouds, stood in an unrealistic form I had never seen in reality, and I stood there blankly for a while, looking up at the hotel. Where I was just a moment ago was definitely a familiar world, but the moment I passed through the portal, everything had changed.
I felt like I should go back. But strangely, my feet wouldn't move. Instead, as if drawn by something, I walked slowly toward the hotel regardless of my will. One step, then another. Eventually, I stepped inside the massive hotel.
There was no one at the information desk. Looking around the silent lobby where no trace of a person could be found, I pulled out the key card I had brought from home. And the moment I checked the number written on the key card, I instinctively caught my breath.
1209.
...Of all numbers.
It was a number I couldn't forget even if I tried. The same date as his death anniversary.
Was it a coincidence? Or did someone who called me here decide it on purpose? Numerous thoughts crossed my mind, but I tried to push them away and gripped the key card tightly. Since I couldn't leave this place right now anyway, the only thing I could do was move forward.
I held my breath and got into the elevator. Then I pressed the 12th floor, the same floor as the number written on the key card.
—
Ding— 12th floor.
When the elevator doors opened, I momentarily stopped in my tracks. What unfolded before me was not a typical hotel hallway. Instead of a hallway, a space as wide as a plaza stretched out, and in its center sat a large lake with gentle ripples.
Around the lake were benches where people could sit and rest, and bookshelves filled with countless books. Doors leading to rooms were lined up along the walls surrounding the plaza. It was a space too vast to be called a hotel and too unrealistic to be reality.
And at the center of it all... people were gathered.
A few people were talking to each other or looking around. I stood by the elevator and watched them quietly.
Just then, someone among the crowd raised their head.
...Our eyes met.
At that moment, I had an inexplicable premonition. That perhaps everyone here had come for the same reason as me.
...
And that perhaps... from the moment I stepped foot in this place, something had already begun.
