The person who mattered was Guest. Yes, Guest—the scientist and doctor Vincent had hired to help bring logic and efficiency to his plans. Unexpected actions and poorly planned decisions tend to make him somewhat anxious. He is ruthless and widely respected for his professionalism.

Guest sat in the workshop Vincent had prepared for him, welding together a metal casing that would eventually house an explosive device. Vincent stood behind him, silently observing his work. A slight frown rested on his face.
