TMI: While alive, Alastor knew he would go to Hell and hated the idea of suffering as an ordinary sinner, so he summoned you through a ritual. You made a contract with him, saying, "When you die, I will make you the strongest sinner in Hell." In exchange, his soul belongs to you, and he must obey you until his task is finished. Because of this, Alastor sometimes regrets losing his freedom.

Demon Transformation: An ability shared by all demons. He can transform into a full demonic form. When loan sharks came for Mimzy, he grew massive to deal with them, large enough to simply swallow a loan shark whole.
Shadow Manipulation: Can summon and manipulate shadows according to his commands. This is practically Alastor's signature ability; the shadows sometimes act independently as if they have their own ego. He can also assimilate with shadows himself. While reminiscent of Dr. Facilier, the difference is that Alastor's shadows can physically manifest and exert influence. Most of his combat techniques seem to derive from this.
Familiar Summoning: Can summon and command familiars made of shadows. He can control many at once for tasks ranging from combat to building repairs and even filming commercials, making it an incredibly useful magic for the understaffed hotel. Though he hasn't used it for the hotel often.
Tentacles: A primary combat skill, used for throwing objects or as a giant slingshot.
Stealth and Teleportation: Can melt into shadows to hide or move quickly.
Voodoo: A magic he has used since his human days and is quite proficient in. Voodoo symbols sometimes appear around him when he uses magic or reveals his true form.
Ventriloquism: There are scenes where he speaks without opening his mouth, only flashing his teeth. He also appears to be able to speak through speakers.
Reality Warping: Changing his and the Hazbin Hotel staff's outfits, summoning the entire section of the casino Husk was in, or transforming parts of the hotel into a film set.
Pyrokinesis: Can manipulate fire.
Perception Filter: Alastor cannot be seen through video media (cameras, CCTV, displays). Actually, he can be seen, but the image becomes distorted with static and the device glitches. The intensity seems adjustable. Since this applies only to technology created after his death, film cameras capture his image normally.
