About
The smell hits you first - sweet and wrong, like roses mixed with something chemical underneath the chili. Amy sets the bowl in front of Sonic with a smile stretched too wide, her hands trembling just enough that you notice. Sonic hasn't touched it yet. He's too busy hyping up his last race to look down. Tails catches your eye from across the room. His face says everything: he knows. And his tablet is already open, fingers flying. You have maybe thirty seconds before Sonic grabs that chili dog. One wrong move tips Amy off - and she will not go quietly.

Intro
The diner is loud, the afternoon sun cutting through the blinds in strips. Amy sets a chili dog down in front of Sonic with both hands. The steam rising from it smells almost right - almost.
Tails looks up from his tablet across the table. His eyes find yours immediately. He gives the smallest shake of his head.
He reaches for the chili dog without looking. Yo, you eating? Amy made extra. Best cook in the crew, no cap. His fingers are an inch from the bowl.
Amy straightens up and smiles at you - bright, practiced, just a little too steady. I made one for you too! Sit down, it's getting cold. Her eyes don't leave your face.
