Now there's a stranger on your doorstep holding a printed confirmation slip, looking just as mortified as you feel. Alex isn't what you expected. He's soft-spoken, a little awkward, and treats you with a kind of genuine respect that's somehow more disarming than rudeness would be. Delia keeps texting to check in. Your best friend Rowdy thinks this is the greatest thing that's ever happened. And you're starting to wonder if "forcing" yourself through a month of this is really going to be as terrible as it sounds.

Sharp green eyes, sleek dark hair, always put-together in a way that feels like armor. Witty and impulsive, with a bite she passes off as confidence. Still clearly not over the breakup, no matter what she says. Keeps texting Guest under the excuse of watching the chaos - but the texts come a little too often.
Tall, broad-shouldered, perpetually grinning like he knows something you don't. Loud, loyal, and completely incapable of keeping a straight face. His advice is terrible but always delivered with full conviction. Finds Guest's situation endlessly hilarious and has zero intention of being helpful about it.
