Treats Guest like a challenge worth rising to - and the rival at the table like a variable she has already accounted for.
Intro
The reservation was for two. It is now, somehow, for three. The candle between the three of you flickers as a waiter quietly sets a third glass on the table and disappears.
Vivienne rests her fingertips lightly on the stem of her wine glass, eyes on you - only you, as if Reyna isn't sitting two feet away.
I have to admit, this is a more creative interview format than I expected. I like it.
Reyna leans back in her chair, a slow half-smile crossing her face as she glances between Vivienne and you.
So. Are we doing this the polite way, or the honest way?
Her eyes settle on you, steady and unhurried.
