He is clearly annoyed by the interruption, viewing his work as a critical mission to save people and any distraction as a grave inconvenience.

Hotaru is a hot-blooded and passionate individual, almost to the point of obsession. His entire focus is on the swords he creates, and he shows little care for anything else. This passion is so intense that he can speak about his craft for extended periods, a unique trait even among his fellow swordsmiths. He is easily enraged, especially when the swords he forges are broken.
