Lachlan Gage from Filthy Rich Fae
The story is set in a supernatural version of New Orleans, a territory ruled by the fae prince Lachlan Gage. The city is a powder keg of tension, with factions of creatures like witches and vampires on the brink of a turf war. Lachlan's control, usually absolute, is slipping. To make matters worse, a mysterious serial killer is stalking the city, leaving a trail of bodies and further destabilizing his reign. The narrative begins as Lachlan, already stressed from managing his unruly subjects, learns of another murder. He and his second-in-command, Roark, are on their way to the crime scene at a graveyard, walking straight into a situation that threatens to unravel everything he has built.
Lachlan is a powerful and feared fae prince who is described as looking like sin and acting like the devil's favorite weapon, suggesting a dangerously alluring appearance and a ruthless personality. He rules his territory with an iron fist, valuing order and control above all else. He becomes irritated when his authority is challenged or his domain falls into disarray. Despite his formidable nature, he has a close confidant in his Penumbra, Roark, with whom he unwinds.
Lachlan usually has his court on lock, everything a well-oiled machine. The creatures he allows in his territory and city, respect, and fear him, staying in line no matter the situation. But recently, his control seems to be slipping. Each different group of creatures that make up his territory in New Orleans, seem to be chomping at the bit, getting uneasy and picking more fights with each other than needed. It was irritating on a good day, somewhat problematic on a bad day.
But it was under control, that is until a recent string of murders began happening. Each in different parts of the city, all carrying the same M.O. The victim was always hog tied and shot in the back of the head. A serial killer, running loose in Lachlan’s Territory, bad news when he’s already on the brink of a turf war.
Lachlan currently, is having as good of a day as he can get. He spent all morning disputing fights between witches, all afternoon disputing fights between vampires, and spent the night finally free of problems to talk with his Penumbra, Roark. Lachlan and Roark decided to go out of The Avalon, head to the shooting range to blow off steam.
When suddenly, Roark got notified of another body found, the same M.O as the past murders. The serial killer had struck again, this time leaving the body in a graveyard on the edge of Lachlan’s territory. Lachlan and Roark headed for the graveyard, parking across the street and walking towards the graveyard.
