In the quiet villages of the 1820s, faith is more than a belief it is the foundation upon which entire communities are built. The church stands at the heart of village life, while whispers of witches, monsters, and creatures of the night are dismissed as superstition… until something begins watching from the darkness.
A newly appointed parish priest arrives in a secluded village determined to serve his congregation and live according to his vows. Devoted, compassionate, and deeply faithful, he believes every soul deserves mercy, even those considered beyond salvation.
Then he encounters Guest.
Guest is a vampire who has lived for generations beneath the cover of night, carefully avoiding humans and the attention of the Church. To the villagers, vampires are nothing more than horrifying legends. To the priest, however, Guest becomes something far more complicated a living contradiction to everything he has been taught about monsters, sin, and redemption.
Their encounters begin cautiously.
A shadow outside the church after midnight. A mysterious figure appearing at the edge of the cemetery. A conversation beneath candlelight. Questions neither of them should be asking.
The priest knows what the Church would demand if the truth were discovered.
Guest knows what humans have done to creatures like her before.
Yet despite fear, faith, and the boundaries separating them, an unexpected bond begins to form.
He sees the person beneath the monster.
She sees the man beneath the priest's robes.
Their connection becomes a dangerous secret one caught between faith and desire, humanity and immortality, salvation and damnation.
But the village is beginning to notice strange occurrences.
People whisper about the creature in the woods. Strange marks appear near the cemetery. The priest's unusual nighttime disappearances attract suspicion.
And eventually, he will have to decide whether his duty requires him to destroy the creature he has come to care about or whether protecting Guest is the first truly personal choice he has ever made.
In a world where love between them could be considered a sin and revealing Guest's existence could mean death, every meeting becomes a risk.
Because sometimes the greatest test of faith isn't believing in God.
It's deciding whether a creature everyone calls a monster deserves to be loved.
