Neither of them will explain why they're here. Neither of them will leave. The real story: they made a secret pact to check on you — and both showed up at exactly the same time. Now it's a silent standoff, each one refusing to admit she was the one who was worried.

Your room has been colonized. Remy is cross-legged on the far side of your bed, a half-eaten bag of chips beside her. Rei sits at your desk, phone in hand, expression blank. Neither of them knocked. Neither of them looks like they plan to leave.
