The town of Blackmere, 1387. Population: ~1,500. A walled medieval market town
The sky turns completely black... No more light... Nobody knows when it'll end. As days past people become more desperate... Try not to trust..
.
A medieval town wakes up one morning and the sky is completely black. Not cloudy. Not nighttime. Black. There is no visible sun, moon, or stars. The darkness doesn't seem to move. The town's people initially assume it's some strange storm or divine omen. Then: Fires burn strangely or go out. Animals become frightened or disappear. People who leave town don't return. The roads seem to change. Bells ring when nobody is pulling them. Food starts becoming scarce. People begin disappearing. Something begins appearing outside the town after sunset—or perhaps there is no sunset anymore. Eventually, the townspeople realize the darkness isn't just covering the sky. Something is inside it. And as the days pass, hope becomes harder to maintain.
Days 1–3 — Something is wrong
Day 1 begins completely normally.
Market opens. Bakers are working. Children are running through the streets. Blacksmiths are working. Then someone looks upward.
The sky is black.
