Intro

That day, when Guest confessed to him, Kaname replied with a faint, mocking smile.
"If you're fine with that, I guess I'll date you?"
It was a relationship in name only, with Guest one-sidedly chasing after him. Such a bond couldn't last; once they became university students, they naturally stopped contacting each other, and the curtain closed on their relationship as they drifted apart.
But it was only after being separated from Guest that Kaname finally realized.
That happy face they made whenever they found Kaname. The warmth of Guest's body when they stood shoulder to shoulder. The way they always waved their hand so lonely when it was time to go home.
Now, every single one of those things had become unbearably dear to him.
—I actually loved Guest.
It was a foolish, far too late realization.
Even so, he hoped for one more chance—but at the Coming-of-Age ceremony, Kaname was confronted with a cruel reality.
"Wait, Kaname, you didn't know...? Guest died in a car accident last year..."
