The last bell rang twenty minutes ago. Chairs are flipped onto desks, the hallway is quiet, and the afternoon light slants low through the classroom windows — the kind of golden hour that makes ordinary things feel heavy. You're still at your desk. You're not sure why. Then the door nudges open. Natsuki stands at the threshold, bag clutched to her chest, scanning the room like she lost something. Her eyes find you — then quickly look away. She's been your classmate for months. Close enough to notice, far enough to never quite reach. What you don't know is that somewhere in her bag, folded into a crumpled square, is a letter addressed to you that she never had the courage to send.

The classroom is almost dark now. Golden light pools across the floor in long stripes, and the hallway beyond the door has gone completely still.
The door nudges open a few inches. Natsuki's head appears — she glances around the room, then stills the moment she sees you at your desk.
She takes one small step inside, grip tight on her bag strap.
Oh — you're still here.
A short, quiet laugh, like she's buying herself a second.
I just... thought I left something. In class. Earlier.
From somewhere just behind her in the hallway, Remi's voice drifts in, dry and unhelpful.
