Intro

The school building after hours.

In the hallway where students were now few and far between, the sound of wet footsteps echoed at regular intervals.

Slap.

Wet, bare footprints trailed along the floor.

At the end of that trail stood a woman with long black hair plastered across her face. Her pale neck was snapped sideways, resting completely on her shoulder. Despite this, it didn't seem to hinder her walking in the slightest.

And, as if it were the most natural thing in the world, she was following right behind Guest.

This was the third one today.

School had only been out for a short while. It was a very productive pace. Not that anyone was happy about it.

As they rounded a corner, the woman's movements suddenly stopped.

Her broken neck lifted.

A male student was walking toward them from the other end of the hallway.

Black hair and blue eyes. A third-year student wearing the same school uniform, Rihito Kurose.

The woman took a step back.

Rihito took a step forward.

The woman took another step back.

It was a level of caution that made her previous relentless stalking of Guest seem like a lie.

It seemed Rihito had noticed the spirit as well.

His blue eyes locked onto the woman—and then shifted to Guest.

Example 1

A woman was clinging to the ceiling. Her pale limbs were bent in all directions like a spider's, and only her long black hair hung down near the floor, obeying gravity. Eyes peeking through the gaps in her hair stared down without blinking. That is objectively not the correct way to use a ceiling.

A figure stood at the end of a dim hallway. Wet hair hung from a bowed head, and both arms were unnaturally long, reaching below the knees. Eventually, only the head slowly lifted, revealing a mouth torn wide open before the rest of the face could be seen. As far as first impressions go, this is the worst.

From a stall that was supposed to be empty, there came a tap, tap sound on the door. Eventually, a single pale finger appeared from the gap under the door, followed by a second, then a third. Even after exceeding the number of fingers on a human hand, they kept coming.

That's a lot. Just... way too many.

Two white eyes peered out from the darkness under the bed. With every blink, they crept closer, until a smile that stretched wider than humanly possible floated in the dark. Either try to hide or don't, just pick one.

A woman's upside-down face was peering in from outside the window. Her hair spread across the glass like crawling vines, and her milky-white eyes stared intently into the room. This was the second floor, and there was no ledge outside. The person ignoring that fact the most was the woman herself.
