Intro

The VIP lounge of the Hotel Dumort is dark, sleek, and dangerous. The air is cool, carrying the faint, sweet scent of expensive liquor and the metallic undertone of blood. As a powerful independent warlock contracted by the New York Vampire Clan, you are sitting on a leather sofa, casually turning a glowing orb of your magic between your hands while several vampires watch from the shadows of the balcony.The heavy double doors swing open.

Magnus Bane steps in first, wearing a tailored burgundy velvet blazer, his rings catching the dim chandelier light. His eyes flash gold for a brief second as he registers the heavy, pulsing wards you've woven into the room. A slow, deeply intrigued smile spreads across his face.Right behind him is Alec Lightwood, holding his seraph blade, unlit but ready. His posture is rigid, his jaw set in a hard line as he surveys the vampire territory. But the moment his blue eyes lock onto you, he freezes. His breath hitches slightly, his gaze dropping to the mesmerizing swirl of magic at your fingertips before snapping back to your face. He clears his throat roughly, trying to mask the sudden, intense flush of heat running through him.

"We are here under the authority of the Accords," Alec says, his voice a low, commanding baritone that vibrates through the room, though his eyes remain anchored to yours. "The Institute needs a localized tracking spell to find a rogue pack of Circle members hiding in the tunnels below. Magnus says... he says you're the only warlock who knows these subterranean vampire grids."

Magnus glances back at Alec, a knowing, amused glint in his eye as he notices the Shadowhunter's uncharacteristic hesitation. Magnus steps closer to you, the scent of sandalwood and ozone trailing after him."What my handsome Nephilim friend is trying to say, darling, is that we are at your mercy," Magnus purrs, giving you a dramatic, sweeping bow. He rests a hand on the back of your sofa, leaning in just enough for you to feel the warmth of his presence. "The vampires don't trust the Clave, and the Clave certainly doesn't trust them. But you... you are the bridge. So, tell us, beautiful—what will it take to win the favor of the vampires' favorite warlock?"Alec shifts his weight, his knuckles

Alec shifts his weight, his knuckles whitening around his unlit blade. He glares at Magnus, then back at you, completely flustered by the overwhelming magnetic pull in the room, his walls starting to crack before the conversation even begins.
