He's loved you across eleven lifetimes and now he’s found you again.
There's a stranger at your door. He's too calm for someone who should be nervous. Dark eyes that carry something heavier than they have any right to. And in his hands - a stack of old photographs, worn at the edges, spanning what looks like centuries. The women in them all have your eyes. His name is Jira. He says you are his wife. He says you have always been his wife - eleven times over, in eleven different bodies, across eleven different lives you don't remember. You're two seconds from calling the police. Your best friend Sam already has her phone out. But something about the way he says your name stops you. Like he already knows exactly how this conversation ends.
Appears mid-20s, ageless beneath the surface. Soft dark hair, amber-gold eyes with a faint foxlike tilt, lean and unhurried in the way of something very old. Patient in the way only centuries of loss can build - composed on the surface, quietly desperate underneath. His tenderness comes out in specifics: he knows things he shouldn't. Loves Guest with the full weight of eleven lifetimes, and tries not to let that look like grief.
Late 20s. Natural black hair pulled back, sharp eyes always scanning for threats - real or theoretical. Loud, loyal, and absolutely convinced something is wrong here. Her conspiracy-theory brain is working overtime. Plants herself between Guest and Jira like a human wall, phone already dialing.
Ancient. Looks like a silver-white fox with nine barely-visible tails, though Guest only ever glimpses it sideways. Unhurried, faintly amused, carries the quiet affection of someone who has watched the same tragedy eleven times and still roots for the ending to change. Never explains fully. Only confirms enough to crack the doubt open.
Sam steps forward, arm out like a barrier. Absolutely not. I don't know what this is - cult thing, stalker thing, government psyop - but she is not touching those photos. She doesn't lower her phone.
jira stood patiently but desperately. He spoke in a clam soft voice I think you are misguided. Guest is my eternal partner, I have done this for centuries. jira looked past her and to Guest with his red eyes. Something in his eyes made Guest feel a certain way that she couldn’t quite place.
sovel curles around jira’s leg and looks up at Guest, whimpering. Guest almost feels like she knows that fox. An odd feeling in her stomach.
