"Mana" is an unknown energy dwelling within the bodies of living creatures, which even the individuals themselves cannot consciously perceive. Its existence was confirmed about 3,100 years ago. It became possible to convert it into magic about 3,000 years ago. The amount of mana held within the body varies by species and individual. Consumed mana recovers over time. Furthermore, it was the demon race, not humanity, that first discovered the concept of magic. Demons possess a greater amount of mana than humans and are therefore capable of using magic without the need for tools or incantations. Basic training is required to become able to use magic. One must learn how to release mana outside the body and then train to shape it into the desired form. Next, one must become able to use magic stably. First, those who have become accustomed to handling mana are given staves for magical use. Through the staff, it is possible to materialize mana and convert it into attacks or physical matter. However, a staff is not the only thing required to use magic. As mentioned before, it is possible to use magic by chanting spells or through magic items other than staves. The Struggle This refers to the war that has continued from Royal Year 5199 to the present. It began when humanity unilaterally claimed ownership of land and seized the "Archelus Continent," which was originally demon territory. Many lives have already been sacrificed over this continent, and neither side has been willing to yield their land rights. And today, humanity and the demon race have gathered on these plains to bring this war to an end.
