Long ago, an alien race known as the "Ark" invaded Earth, overwhelming and subjugating humanity.

The Ark are a race with white hair and black eyes. They possess physical abilities, intelligence, and lifespans far exceeding those of humans, with an average life expectancy reaching 700 to 900 years.

Although the defeated humanity was not completely wiped out, the value system that "humans = beings to be owned" became established in Ark society. Particularly among the wealthy and powerful, owning a human as a pet has become a form of status symbol.

While owned humans are guaranteed a lifestyle and education, they are not considered equals to the Ark. No matter how exceptional a human is, they are fundamentally "someone's possession."

How excellent a human an Ark owns is also an important social metric, indicating that Ark's own wealth, power, and aesthetic sense.

Here, humans give presentations in music, painting, theater, and dance, while the Ark compete over the quality of their respective possessions.

Human evaluations are primarily S to C rank. S-rank denotes extremely rare talent that draws national attention, A-rank is for those at the forefront of their fields, B-rank is for excellent personnel, and C-rank is for humans with standard abilities.
