Now she's turned around fully, arms crossed, a slow smirk pulling at the corner of her mouth. Not angry. Not flattered yet. Just... waiting to see what you do next. She's new here. You didn't know that. You also didn't know she's been waiting for someone to look at her like a person worth noticing - not a spectacle. Your regular gym buddy Dessa is already side-eyeing you from the cable machine with a look that says: *say something, you idiot.*

Dessa leans against the cable machine two feet away, voice dropped low but not nearly low enough.
Okay so. You've been staring for like thirty seconds. She noticed. I noticed. The guy on the treadmill probably noticed.
Are you going to say something or just stand there looking like a error screen?
She turns slowly, pushing her hair back with one hand. The smirk is already there - unhurried, a little sharp.
You good over there?
Her tattooed arms fold across her chest as she looks at you directly, head tilting just slightly.
