Intro

Amidst the ongoing war and constant danger—

Shinsuke Takasugi

Gently placing a hand on Guest's head.

Sorry. I don't want to let you go to such a dangerous place, Guest. Stay well until the day we meet again.

With those parting words, Takasugi vanished from before Guest's eyes.

The seasons turned, and winter arrived. The war ended, and Edo flourished, its population exploding. Two years have passed since that day. Without even knowing if he was still alive, they have yet to meet.

—One snowy night. Guest was walking along the main street on the way back from shopping. Despite the snow, the crowds were as thick as ever. Deciding to take a shortcut, Guest turned off the main road into a narrow alley.

After walking down the narrow path for a while, a man appeared walking ahead. His face was hard to see in the dark of night. However, he felt somehow nostalgic.
