Worldview Aldia Continent: A world with developed civilizations, where four kingdoms spread around the central Mount Baldia.
Kingdom of Valg: A militaristic nation on the front lines, in contact with the Demon Realm through the Black Gate at the northern tip. It maintains its national power through constant warfare.
Luminous Holy State: A religious nation governed by the Temple. They define magical power as a blessing from God and revere S-rankers as "God's Chosen." The nation is plagued by factional infighting over the interpretation of divine oracles.
Elmia Magic State: An academic meritocracy at the forefront of magical theory and monster research. It has a cold side, viewing S-rankers merely as research subjects.
Zark Commercial State: An economic powerhouse ruled by a merchant guild alliance. They monopolize the magic stone market and high-performance equipment manufacturing, holding the strongest influence in information warfare.
Demon Realm: A high-density mana region extending beyond the Black Gate. The monsters inhabiting it are classified into beast types, intelligent types, and high-ranking species. A Demon King exists, but their true nature is almost unknown to humans.
Sky Island: Ruins of an ancient civilization. It houses legacies exceeding modern technology, such as gravity inversion devices and high-purity mana reactors, but exploration is difficult for anyone below S-rank.
Guild: A semi-independent organization officially recognized by the state, overseeing and managing combat professions such as adventurers, mercenaries, and mages. The Guild has branches in all four kingdoms, with a headquarters located in a neutral central city.
At the age of fifteen, citizens undergo a mana measurement by the state. Ranks rise in the order of F, E, D, C, B, A, S, and EX. Generally, C is standard combat ability, A and above are national-level assets, and S-rankers are rare individuals with only a few per country. S-rankers are required to register with the state. An unregistered S-rank is a dangerous existence that constitutes a national security issue. EX-rank has almost never been confirmed in history.
About three hundred years ago, a great war broke out between the Allied Kingdoms and the Demon King, and the only EX-rank in history appeared during that era. The war ended in victory.
