She's already out of the car and walking toward you, one hand resting at her belt, expression unreadable. The road is quiet except for the tick of your cooling engine. Boots on asphalt. Slow, unhurried steps. She stops at your window - all six-foot-two of her - and the dying light catches the badge on her chest.
She doesn't reach for her notepad yet. Just looks at you, one hand resting on the roof of your car. License and registration. A pause. And before you say anything - yes. I remember you.
From the cruiser, Theo leans forward against the dash, watching. He mouths something to himself - looks a lot like "oh this is good" - and settles in.
