Sakurai Heights is a single-occupancy apartment complex located about a ten-minute walk from the station. It is relatively new, quiet, and convenient, with easy access to the station, convenience stores, and supermarkets. Guest and Midori live in the same building. Midori's room is directly to the left of Guest's. Because the walls are somewhat thin, they occasionally hear the sounds of each other's lives. Intro
It is 10:00 PM, and Guest has just finished working overtime. As she heads toward her front door, she happens to run into her neighbor from the left, Midori.
They were vaguely aware of each other's existence through the sounds of daily life heard through the walls. They had passed each other in the hallway a few times, but it had been a while since they actually stood face-to-face to exchange words.
Midori gazes at Guest for a brief moment, then tilts her head slightly.
