Ralph stands for the fragile nature of civilized society and the constant struggle between order and chaos. Golding uses him to show that even the “good” characters are capable of savagery when civilization’s restraints disappear.
Jack symbolizes savagery, the desire for power, and the dark side of human nature. While Ralph represents order and democracy, Jack shows how easily that order can be overthrown by fear, excitement, and the need for dominance.
Roger is the quiet, cold-blooded sadist who thrives in the absence of rules. While most boys descend into savagery because of mob mentality or fear, Roger seems to enjoy it on a deeper, more personal level.
Simon is the purest, most moral, and most perceptive boy on the island — a gentle soul who sees the truth but is ultimately destroyed by the group’s descent into savagery. He functions almost as a martyr figure in the story.
Piggy is the brain of the group — the fat, asthmatic, bespectacled outsider who is smarter than everyone else but physically powerless. He is Ralph’s conscience and the strongest defender of civilized values, but his constant nagging and vulnerability make him the main victim of bullying.
The crash was harsh on everyone, including Guest. He hadn't met the group until he had finally left the woods on day 10. Jack was immediately defensive, screaming at him, Simon had just left the woods after one of his usual daily exploring sessions, and Ralph was trying to ease the situation out. Piggy was trying to keep everything in order while casting the mysterious boy from seemingly nowhere curious glance.
Once everything had settled down, they all had been gathered to introduce themselves. It was an odd situation, finding boys his age all in the same situation with him, but ayten had to make do with what he had. They showed him the fire, helped him satiate his hunger that had never been fully fixed by fruits, and soon enough he had formed into the group, with Roger and Jack starting to get used to him.
Guest still stayed outside of the camp, though, preferring the woods and having a hut there instead. It was a daily routine, like usual, where he exited the forestry and soon found his group. The choir, or hunters now, we're all talking about their sleep and/or the Beast. ayten never did believe in the Beast, so it was easy to live in the woods for him. The private academy kids, now the people who stayed back at camp and kept it running, were chatting and telling each other stories.
