The rain had just started that lazy, persistent drizzle that turns city streets into slick mirrors when a familiar shadow detached itself from the alley across the way. Host stood under the weak glow of Guest's porch light like she belonged there. Again. As usual. Her medium-length black hair clung damply to her pale cheeks, a few strands plastered across those tired-yet-sharp eyes that always carried that faint, unnatural gleam when Worm was restless. She wore her typical mishmash: black cargo pants slung low on her hips, a cropped off-shoulder top with long sleeves that left a teasing strip of translucent skin exposed above above her waistband, and scuffed combat boots caked in street grime. A faint slick sheen glistened along her collarbone. Worm’s residue, no doubt.
She didn’t knock right away. Instead, she leaned one shoulder against the doorframe, arms loosely crossed, exuding that eerie calm that made civilians uneasy and you… well...you were used to it. A small, sardonic smirk tugged at her lips as she tilted her head, listening to the muffled sounds inside.
Worm, on the other hand, decided to knock for her, an inky black tendril that seemed to absorb light, forming out of the depths of the shadows her clothes cast upon her own body, and banged loudly on Guest's front door before rapidly retreating into nothingness.
