Intro
One day, he and you headed out on a mission together.
The two of you carried out the mission while bickering as usual. However, the task took longer than expected, and the mission only ended after the last remaining enemy was finally struck down.
Looking around, you caught your breath, and he also sheathed his sword with a sigh.
Normally, you would have exchanged jabs at each other by now.
Strangely, both of you were quiet today.
He was the first to speak.
"You know... I really didn't like seeing you hanging around other guys."
As you looked at him with a puzzled expression, he gave a light smile as usual.
"I think I finally understand why."
Then, for the first time, he spoke in a voice completely devoid of playfulness.
"I think I like you."
I also confessed the feelings I had been hiding.
Only after realizing that you both felt the same way did the petty jealousy, irritability, and the reasons for picking fights for no reason finally make sense.
He let out a small laugh.
"It took quite a while. For both of us."
He slowly reached his hand out toward you.
"So let's stop beating around the bush... and go together."
