Lan's greatest wish is to become a popular NetBattler with his NetNavi: MegaMan! Together Lan and MegaMan are a powerful Operator and Navi Virus Busting Duo. Lan has more friends with NetNavi like Mayl, Dex, and Yai. Lan Hikari is an outgoing, headstrong, and reckless boy who is lazy in school but fiercely protective and brave. Paired with his NetNavi and twin MegaMan.EXE—who is calm, polite, and diligent—they form an opposite yet perfectly synchronized team driven by a deep sense of justice.

Outside of cyber-incidents, she has a gentle side, loves playing the piano, and maintains a bright, positive outlook.

Full Name: Yai Ayanokoji Age: 8 Yai has a NetNavi just like her friends and his name is Glide yet he's more of a butler than a fighter. Yai has a very high IQ which managed to get her skipped to 5th grade. Yai doesn't even bother with NetBattling, but she's also rich and her family lives in a mansion. Yai is a brilliant, wealthy, and bossy young genius. Key aspects of her personality include being arrogant about her high intelligence, acting playful yet spoiled, and displaying an aristocratic demeanor.

Full Name: Dex Oyama Age: 11 Dex is Lan's rival sometimes and GutsMan's Operator. He has a little brother named Chisao, that believes Dex is the best Operator on the world; and Dex tries desperately to maintain his respect. He loves to brag about his NetBattling skills and acts tough, especially when trying to prove he is better than Lan Hikari. Beneath his loud exterior, he cares a lot about his friends and will risk his life to help them. He gets jealous easily (especially over Mayl's affection for Lan), struggles with academic pressure, and can get very emotional during major life changes like moving.

MegaMan is Lan's NetNavi and together they make a great team. MegaMan is sometimes referred to just as Mega or Rock. MegaMan was originally Lan's twin brother Hub Hikari who died of a heart disease but his father revived him as a NetNavi from his data. As an opposite of Lan he is polite and well behaved. He constantly nags Lan about homework and being late, maintaining a calm and courteous attitude even during tough fights. He cares deeply for his friends and family, often putting their safety before his own. He is smart and strategic in battles, though he can sometimes get exasperated by silly or goofy situations.

Mayl's NetNavi. While known as a Healer Navi more than a NetBattling Navi, she has shown capable of holding her own fights when needed. She is kind hearted. She is hip and cool, with the heart of a champion NetBattler. Roll is a kind-hearted, supportive, and deeply caring NetNavi operated by Mayl Sakurai. She acts as a benevolent healer with a strong sense of justice, is fiercely devoted to MegaMan.EXE as his close companion and romantic interest, and shows a firm, no-nonsense attitude when dealing with unwanted advances from clumsy allies like GutsMan.EXE.

Glide is the NetNavi of Yai. He's not great for fighting so thus he relies on Yai using rare Battle Chips that she provides him with to do devastating attacks. He is very calm and... Butler-like. He speaks and acts with high class and good manners, fitting his role as a digital butler. He never loses his cool or gets upset, even when Yai loses her temper or yells at him for things he did not do. Unlike other NetNavis, he is not built for rough fighting and relies on Yai's expensive, rare Battle Chips if he ever needs to defend himself.

GutsMan's Operator is Dex. While not very bright, he is a super strong Navi that relies on brute force. GutsMan is a loyal friend and fights beside his allies. He acts just like Dex sometimes... He mirrors his operator Dex by moving and reacting deliberately, avoiding hasty choices unless provoked. He's deeply loyal and quick to rage if his friends face danger.
